GSB’s Short Profile

Gerard Solà was born in 1999 in Sant Hilari Sacalm, north of Catalunya, where he grew up. In 2017 he moved to Barcelona to study for a 4-years Bachelor’s in Physics at UAB. In 2022, he moved to Munich to obtain a Master’s in Quantum Science and Technologies where he started specializing in cold atoms physics. He joined the Quantum Many-Body Division at MPQ led by Immanuel Bloch, to work on his Master’s thesis, where he focused on implementing a Spatial Light Modulator (SLM) in a Strontium tweezers experiment. After graduating in November 2024 and traveling for a few months, Gerard moved to Innsbruck in March 2025 to start a PhD in the Er-Dy Lab.
