Goodbye to Tana

On the 4th of October, we said goodbye to the Theory group‘s visiting PhD student Tanausú Hernández Yanes! Tana joined us almost a year ago from the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IFPAN), where he obtained the scholarship NAWA PRELUDIUM BIS 1 from the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange to work with us.

During his visit, Tana worked on many projects such as investigating the expansion of a dipolar gas on the lattice alongside our longtime collaborator Prof. Luca Barbiero. Tana also completed his PhD thesis during his time with our group – good luck with your defense and we wish you the best in the next stage of your career, Tana!

Goodbye to Antonio

We said goodbye to Antonio Ortu at the end of July 2024. Dr. Ortu joined the T-REQS lab as a Post-doc in May 2022, and has now moved to Copenhagen for a scientific staff position. Good luck at your new position, Antonio!

 

Goodbye to Ferdinand

We bid goodbye to Ferdinand Claude at the end of June 2024! Dr. Claude joined the Erbium team as Post-doc at the end of 2022, and will be moving to the MajuLab in Singapore as a research fellow. Good luck at your new position, Ferdinand!

 

Welcome to Clément

Welcome to Clément Caille, who is joining the ERBIUM DYSPROSIUM lab for his Masters’ internship. Clément is pursuing a Masters at ENS – Paris Saclay. He will join us for 4 months implementing optical lattices for our Quantum Gas Microscope.

Goodbye to Amal

We bade farewell to Amal El Arrach on the 15th of April 2024, when she defended her master thesis – congratulations! Amal conducted her research in the T-REQS lab, which she joined in the Fall of 2020.
